Massa to undergo surgery after Hungary qualifying crash

Felipe Massa is to undergo surgery after sustaining head injuries resulting from a crash during the second qualifying session at the Hungaroring today. A piece of the debris from Barrichello’s car struck the Ferrari driver in the head, causing him to crash head-on into a barrier. The footage of the incident shows possibly a spring hitting his helmet. It was first believed he hadn’t suffered any serious injury but it now appears he recieved a concussion, damage to his skull and a cut to his face. However doctors say he was conscious at the hospital and his condition is stable. BrawnGP News wishes him a speedy recovery.
